Vernon Frazer

Breathing Sky

numb kitefall
caught on a panoramic dismay

a purloined saga
letter in the present clench

haunting a symbiotic undercurrent

totem wrenched insignia
from the pained stench of weather
pigtails the trail wind’s wake

parallactic derivatives
wailed against the rising crest
unsettled currents crawl

surface depth
a measure best left poetic
a tale in the wind

on display as a winter’s breath

Culminating In

The previously repaired medallion
scuttled currents past horn-crossed seas,
sharp bulletins their last remand

       before entry

             indented the shatter

                   crash of crucible entries

Car flecks command the nuance pit
where scarred filigree

                           raincoats at the sky

Panetela femur throttles macadamia
to the surface, wrenching mottos at play
from the legendary sugar tarp, calling

       ventricle batter

             shedding lumens

                   a pendulous acrimony

withered at the tips where one-time
scenes looked for glory at the end
of their bottled wax impressions.

Yet another
smile at the next declension

sense of

hardened apertures
bottled academia
now or later under
seeking heat missives

clattering arteries where the carts have gone
to prepare

                   while another
                   tiled invention past the need

      the past stroke amends
  pedigree varnish appending
                                                                         force of
the staked pole that beckons
                                                                    a dull command

                     ( : )

whether barred entry holds
a terminus to cradle, a nurture
