Marina TemkinaMarina Temkina is a poet-artist, an author of five poetry books. Published by Ugly Duckling Presse in 2009, What Do You Want is Marina Temkina’s most recent one. It consists mostly of texts written for installations and public art. Marina’s work is included in the Anthology of Jewish-Russian Literature and Dictionary of Russian Women Writers, published in the U.S., and Liberated Ulysses: Anthology of Russian Poets in Diaspora, published in Moscow. Marina received National Endowment for the Arts in 1994. She was an artist-in-residence at Transregional Center for Democratic Studies at New School for Social Research and she received Charles Revson Fellowship on the Future of New York at Columbia University. Marina has been an artist-in-residence at Yaddo, Carl Djerassi Foundation and Ledig-Rowhvolt Foundation, Switzerland. She has exhibited her artwork at Florence Lynch Gallery, NYC, ICA in Moscow, and in several spaces in France. Her next exhibition, “I Need Angels,” is openning at Galerie Francios Barnoud in Dijon in March, 2011. She collaborated on two artist books and other art projects with Michel Gerard. Their next collaborative exhibition “The Power of Naming” in Newhouse for Contemporary Art, Snug Harbor, Staten Island is scheduled in May 2011.
